Virtual Flag Day 2021
The past year has not been easy for everyone. Due to the ongoing pandemic, our annual Flag Day will remain virtual this year. At Singapore Children’s Society, we support children, youth and families in need. Every donation you make will help in ways more than one.
William* was a victim of domestic violence. His father suffered from schizophrenia and would vent his anger by inflicting harsh beatings on William. The young child only had his grandmother to fend for him as his mother had low cognitive ability.
William’s grandmother eventually reached out to Singapore Children’s Society for help and was referred to Sunbeam Place @ Children’s Society when he was just four.
During the initial stages, William was extremely traumatised. But under the close guidance of our counsellors and social workers, his condition started improving. He was enrolled in speech therapy classes and a school to learn how to read and write.
Many children, like William, are still suffering from abuse and trauma silently. We believe that every child deserves a safe home, free from abuse and neglect. We provide counselling and socio-emotional support coupled with various programmes that serve as remedial or preventive measures for abuse.
Your support will allow Children’s Society to continue to help children like William and others in need. You can choose to make an outright donation. Corporates may wish to grab a flag bag and support us by organising an internal collection on your premises.
Extend a helping hand, stretch their road of happiness – Be the reason why they can have a brighter tomorrow.
