Tuning into Confidence Through Performance
Music and performance were instruments for confidence building for 13 members of the Sunbeam Friends Club who took part in the Children’s Enrichment Camp held by Family Service Centre (Yishun) on 6 and 7 June.
The children, aged 6 to 9, learnt to overcome shyness and be more confident through workshops, musical games and ice-breakers. They also worked in teams to rehearse for, and put up, various performances.
They were guided by 16 student volunteers from National Junior College, who acted as camp facilitators.
The camp ended with a concert by the children, who performed ‘The Three Little Pigs’, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘The Enormous Turnip’.
