Tackling Bullies Head On

December 2017

Singapore Children’s Society took its anti-bullying message on the road for the third time on 8 and 9 September 2017, at Serangoon shopping mall nex.

Themed ‘Be the Change, Be Bully-Free’, the Bully-Free Roadshow was aimed at teaching both young and old the importance of preventing bullying, and providing them with the tools to deal with bullies and help their victims. It also reminded the victims of bullying that they were not alone and could get help.

About 1,900 parents, children and youth participated.

Participants got a chance to propose a new slogan for Bully-Free Roadshow 2018, and were invited to participate in the Bully-Free Superhero Design Competition. The winning design will be adopted as the Bully-Free mascot. They were also invited to follow the @BullyFreeSG Instagram account and share their anti-bullying messages.

Free popcorn and candy added a festive element to the weekend, and participants also received activity sheets and a comic book titled ‘Heather’s Adventure’, which teaches children to be active bystanders in a safe way.
