Children’s Society Receives ASEAN Leadership Award

For its stellar work in community development and poverty eradication, the Singapore Children’s Society was among the recipients of the 4th ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Leadership Award. It was the only Voluntary Welfare Organisation and one of two Singapore establishments to receive this accolade.

The award was presented to the Society’s Chief Service Officer, Ms Sue Cheng (fourth from the right), and Mr Fang Xinwei, Assistant Director of Yishun Family Service @ Children’s Society (third from right), at a ceremony held on 8 October 2019 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The Award is presented to non-governmental organisations and private sector organisations from ASEAN Member States for their outstanding contributions to rural or community development, and poverty eradication in their respective countries.

New Radin Mas CC Houses Society’s Services

Singapore Children’s Society is proud to be the first social service agency to be located in a Community Centre. The new Radin Mas Community Club in Telok Blangah houses our two service centres, Student Service @ Children’s Society and The Fort @ Children’s Society, as well as our Research department.

We participated in the Community Centre’s official opening on 6 October 2019, with our youth beneficiaries from The Fort performing a rousing cheer to welcome visitors including Mr Sam Tan, adviser to Radin Mas Constituency, and other advisors to Tanjong Pagar Constituency. Three youth beneficiaries also spoke about how The Fort’s programmes had helped them.

Our Bully-Free team set up games booths where they shared Bully-Free tips and strategies with visitors through jigsaw puzzles.

Singapore Children’s Society’s Radin Mas Office is located at 51 Telok Blangah Crescent, #05-01, Singapore 098917
