Walk for Our Children 2019
Walk for Our Children 2019 will be held on 28 July on Sentosa, and promises to be an exciting Sunday morning for both young and old.
Our signature fundraising event is a 3km walkathon through Palawan Green, followed by a carnival and exciting fringe activities. The theme this year is “Happy Factory”, inspired by our mission to bring relief and happiness to children in need.
The event will run from 8.30am to 1.30pm, and you can show your support in a number of ways, including by purchasing carnival coupons, making outright donations, through coupon sponsorship for Children’s Society’s beneficiaries, by volunteering, or simply coming along.
13th Singapore Children’s Society Lecture
Dr John Elliott, an academic with a deep interest in the social and cognitive development of young children, will take to the podium at this year’s Singapore Children’s Society Lecture.
A member of Children’s Society’s Research and Advocacy Standing Committee, and advisor to the Research Committee, Dr Elliott retired from the National University of Singapore last year. He was an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology. He is also a long-standing volunteer with Children’s Society, and is actively involved in the Research Committee, having served as its Chairman for 20 years.
The lecture will be held at 10am on 12 October 2019, at the Mochtar Riady Auditorium of the Singapore Management University Administration Building.
Now in its 13th year, this annual lecture series was launched in 2007 as part of Children’s Society’s efforts to raise public awareness on issues pertaining to the welfare and well-being of children, youth, and their families.
Event and registration details will be available on our website soon.
