8th Singapore Children's Society Lecture

Title: Your Children Are Not Your Children

The annual Singapore Children’s Society Lecture is an ongoing effort to raise public awareness on issues pertinent to the welfare and well-being of children, youth and families.

Taking the podium this year will be Mr Janadas Devan, Director of the Institute of Policy Studies, and the Chief of Government Communications at the Ministry of Communications and Information.

A former Associate Editor with The Straits Times, Mr Devan will be speaking on how one strikes a balance between ensuring the best upbringing for their children and allowing them sufficient space to grow into unique individuals.

Walk for Our Children 2014

Date: 17 August 2014
Time: 8.30 am – 2.00 pm
Venue: West Coast Park, Grand Lawn

This year’s Walk for Our Children is back and bigger than ever before.

Besides the 3 km leisure walk, an exciting carnival and a flurry of fringe activities to cater to participating families, there will be a new segment – the Corporate Challenge. Companies and their staff are encouraged to participate in SuperDodge Hero, a sports tournament similar to dodge ball. Trophies will be awarded to the winning teams.

The Guest-of-Honour will be Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Defence.

Little Kindness, Lots of Joy – Children’s Day!

Period: September – November 2014

A little help goes a long way – and no one is too little to help. So get your children in on the giving and help us spread joy to children in need this Children’s Day.

Anytime between September and November, email us for a donation envelope and encourage your child to make a contribution. All donations will go towards Singapore Children’s Society’s programmes and outreach efforts.
