Record $3.275 Million Raised by 1000E and 1000P

July 2015

Thanks to the efforts of some 1,133 participants of the Children’s Society’s 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need (1000E) and 1000 Philanthropists (1000P) programmes, the two fund-raising initiatives managed to raise a record $3.275 million in 2014.

These companies and individuals were recognised during the Singapore Children’s Society’s 1000 Enterprises and 1000 Philanthropists for Children-in-Need Appreciation Dinner 2015, held on 11 March at Mandarin Orchard Singapore.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister for Home Affairs and Patron of the programmes, was the Guest-of-Honour. In addition to giving tokens of appreciation to the companies and individuals who have contributed to furthering the Society’s mission of bringing relief and happiness to children in need, DPM Teo also presented certificates of appointment to the two new ambassadors for the 1000E and 1000P programmes.

Mr Chua Kee Teang, Chairman of Mukim Fine Papers Pte Ltd, and Mr Jason Tang, Managing Director of Abwin Pte Ltd, will help engage the business community and individuals in our efforts to raise funds and awareness on behalf of the Society.

In his speech, DPM Teo thanked the donors who were at the event and urged them to keep making a difference to children in need.

To encourage more people to give as Singapore celebrates its Jubilee year, those who donate in 2015 will receive a tax deduction equivalent to 300 percent of the donated amount.

“Together, we can strengthen the spirit of giving in Singapore, and make Singapore a more caring, gracious and warm-hearted society for all Singaporeans,” said DPM Teo.
