Kindling the Kampong Spirit through Kachan
Staff members of Singapore Children’s Society embraced the good old kampong spirit during Kachan, the Society’s annual get-together, on 14 November 2014.
Held at OnePeople.sg, it was an evening of nostalgia, where staff, decked out in elegant baju kurung and their best batik shirts, tucked into old favourites like satay, rendang and a variety of kuehs, washed down with piping hot teh tarik.
There was no shortage of fun and laughter, as those deemed best-dressed strutted their stuff on the catwalk for their chance at the top spots and prizes. Others kept the audience entertained with impromptu drama and dance performances, and tried to get their heads around riddles and puzzles.
Those celebrating their 5th, 10th, 15th or 25th anniversaries working with the Society were also honoured during the evening.
