Singapore faces in New Asean Outfit

Organisation for women’s and children’s rights will be launched on April 7 in Hanoi.

Dr Aline Wong, a former Senior Minister of State, has been appointed one of Singapore’s two representatives to the new Asean Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC).

The other is Mr Koh Choon Hui, chairman of Singapore Children’s Society and managing director of pharmaceutical giant Roche Singapore.

Dr Wong, 68, will represent Singapore on women’s rights while Mr Koh, 69, will represent children’s rights, said the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) yesterday.
