Wednesday, 17 April 2024 –– Singapore Children’s Society’s flagship fundraising initiatives – the 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need (1000E) and 1000 Philanthropists (1000P) programmes – raised a record-breaking amount of $8.8 million in 2023. A significant milestone, 2024 marks the 15th and 10th year of the 1000E and 1000P programmes respectively.
Held at Orchard Hotel, the 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need and 1000 Philanthropists Appreciation Dinner 2024 recognised 1,796 enterprises and individuals for their contributions in 2023. Patron for the 1000E and 1000P programmes, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Mr Teo Chee Hean, was the Guest of Honour for the event and presented tokens of appreciation to attending donors.
The funds raised from the two programmes goes toward funding the programmes and services run by Children’s Society, allowing the Society to continue its efforts to support vulnerable children, youth and families. The generosity and dedication of all donors and supporters enables Children’s Society to make a profound and sustained impact in the lives of its clients. Said Prof Ho Lai Yun, Deputy Chairman of Singapore Children’s Society at the event, “We started the 1000E and 1000P programmes to encourage individuals and corporates to contribute to Children’s Society’s cause of paving a brighter future for all children, youth and their families. This unprecedented level of support not only speaks to the importance of our mission, but also to the compassion of our community.”

The programme hopes to rally 1,000 business enterprises and entrepreneurs in a total collaborative effort to meet the needs of the less fortunate children that the charity serves. Mr Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, is the Patron of the programme.

Singapore Children’s Society launched 1000 Philanthropists (1000P) programme on 20 May 2014. A fundraising initiative, 1000P aims to make philanthropy accessible to people from all walks of life. The programme hopes to invite 1,000 individuals from all backgrounds to be philanthropists each year, and create a framework to unite like-minded individuals to celebrate and honour their support to the Society’s cause. Mr Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, is the Patron of the programme.
