Saturday, 9 July 2022 – Yishun Family Service @ Children’s Society is marking 27 years of service to Yishun residents by organising an Open House from 9 July to 30 September. This Open House, held at our Yishun Family Service Centre (FSC) as part of Singapore Children’s Society 70th Anniversary Celebrations, will showcase our FSC’s services and programmes as well as the personal stories of our beneficiaries, volunteers and staff and how they navigated through the challenges brought forth by COVID-19. We hope their strength and resilience will serve as an encouragement to others in the Yishun community.
Mr Derrick Goh, Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC who was the Guest-of-Honour at the Open House launch on 9 July, met and interacted with our beneficiaries. The past two years have not been easy for many due to the pandemic, especially so for individuals and families from vulnerable backgrounds. Between 2020 and 2021, there was an increase from 1,092 to 1,544 individual and families that Yishun Family Service served and supported through our programmes and services.
Our community partners have also played a key role in assisting our work amidst this increased demand. Said Mr Koh Choon Hui, Chairman of Singapore Children’s Society at the event, “We are very grateful for the many like-minded partners working with Yishun Family Service. We believe that through these collaborations, our impact can be multiplied to support individuals and families who are in need”.
Members of the public are welcome to visit Yishun Family Service from now till 30 September to find out more about the stories of our beneficiaries, volunteers and staff. Prior appointment is necessary before visiting our centre. Interested members of the public can call Yishun Family Service at 6753 7331 or email yishunfsc@childrensociety.org.sg to make the necessary arrangements.
