Message from the CEO: We Have Gone Digital
Dear Supporters & Friends of Children’s Society,
Thank you for the support you have given to Singapore Children’s Society over the years, and welcome to our first digital issue of Sunbeam, our quarterly newsletter as we do without our hard copy. As it has before, Sunbeam will continue to keep you updated on the work that we do – this time with the added benefit of being accessible when and how you would like to read it.
Since it was founded on 17 April 1952, Singapore Children’s Society has retained a sharp focus on bringing relief and happiness to children in need.
To keep our supporters updated on our work, we created our first physical newsletter, “NEWS”, in 1970. In 1991, we renamed it SCS Newsletter, which was an eight-page full-colour publication. We gave it another refresh in 1999, when it was renamed SUNBEAM. Through the 2000s, we have had several facelifts to keep pace with what readers hoped and expected out of our publication.
Just as we have evolved to meet the changing needs of the children, youth and families we serve, we are also changing our newsletter to better fit what our readers want.
This year, we have gone fully digital, with Sunbeam available both on our website and as an email newsletter. It allows us to escape the physical constraints of print, and share more content in a timelier way. We have also given our masthead a new look.
We hope that you like our new format, and find it easier to access either on your desktop or a mobile device.
Do continue to look out for subsequent issues of Sunbeam, which will arrive in your inbox quarterly. We look forward to providing you with more news and stories around the impactful work the Society does.
