Evaluating Programmes for Maximum Impact
To ensure that the myriad of programmes organised by Singapore Children’s Society are having the greatest possible impact, 111 staff members and volunteers attended the 3rd Programme Evaluation Workshop held at the Lifelong Learning Institute on 18 January.
The workshops are aimed at helping the team understand the importance of assessing the impact of their programmes. During the interactive workshop, representatives from our centres presented evaluations of their own programmes and received feedback from a panel of experienced evaluators. They included Research Committee Chairman Assoc Prof John Elliott, Research Committee member Dr Quah Saw Han, and Dr Justin Lee from the Institute of Policy Studies.
Ms Lin Xiaoling, Assistant Director at Research and Outreach Centre, said, “We had a chance to understand more about the programmes carried out by our colleagues and how different evaluation methods could be employed for different programme types.” These would help her evaluate the effectiveness of her own programmes better, she said.
