Beat Bullies: Delete Cyberbullying
Singapore Children’s Society hit the road with its second Bully-Free Roadshow on 21 and 22 October 2016, this time taking its anti-bullying message to E!Hub Downtown East.
Themed ‘Delete Cyberbullying’, it aimed to teach both young and old the importance of preventing cyberbullying, as well as ways to deal with cyberbullies and help their victims. The roadshow also hoped to reach out to the victims of these bullies, and tell them that they are not alone and can get help.
Creative props and boards at a photo booth allowed participants to capture their own anti-bullying messages and share them on the @BullyFreeSG Instagram account with the hashtag #BullyFreeSG. To push the message out even further, participants were encouraged to follow the account and share the anti-cyberbullying messages they had all put out.
There was also fun to be had and prizes to be won at game booths, and free popcorn and balloon sculptures for participants.
Close to 1,000 people, including parents, children and youth, participated in the event.
