Mini Sleuths Plot ‘Island Escape’

Imagination ran wild and creative juices flowed for the 125 students, aged 9 to 12, who attended this year’s Tinkle Friend Camp, held at Shuqun Secondary School from 10 to 12 June 2014.

Themed Out of the Box!’, the camp was aimed at cultivating creativity, teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills, challenging the students to seek inspiration from detective stories to create their own specialised gear before undergoing training as little sleuths.

Then, through games and activities, they worked together to investigate a mystery, uncover clues, and decipher the good guys from the bad.

In the final challenge, they had to figure out how to escape an imaginary island using only recycled materials as transport. This called for novel approaches to problems and much creativity.

The camp ended with a fun stage show and a prize presentation for the Best Detective Agency and the Most Out-of-the-Box Group.
