Creative Minds Tackle Cyberbullying
Singapore’s young creative professionals took each other on in March to come up with the best campaigns against cyberbullying among children and youth.
The MediaCorp Young Creatives Competition was held over two days as part of the Bully-Free Programme conducted by the Society’s Student Service Hub (Bukit Merah).
Contestants had just 48 hours after receiving the creative brief to come up with a campaign incorporating several anti-cyberbullying goals: to stop cyberbullies from sending out hurtful messages, call for victims to practise cyber safety, and encourage bystanders to take a stand against cyberbullying.
A total of 41 entries were submitted in the print, film and cyber categories.
Ms Loke Shi Ying and Mr Allan Zhang from AdPeople Worldwide won in the print category, while Ms Joycelyn He and Ms Ng Mei Mei from J. Walter Thompson (JWT) Singapore took top spot in the film category. Ms Jeanette Tan and Ms Pearlyn Chiam from JWT Singapore clinched the cyber category prize.
The three winning teams received their prizes on 29 April 2015, and their submissions represented Singapore in the Young Lions competition in Cannes in June.
