Lam Research has supported Singapore Children’s Society greatly since 2015, helping out through fundraising events and lending a helping hand to the Society’s service users.
Headquartered in the US, Lam is a global supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the semiconductor industry.
One of Lam’s guiding principles is to “Act with Purpose for a Better World”. The company believes that Singapore Children’s Society shares this value with Lam by supporting, protecting and nurturing children and youths regardless of their background. The organisation’s efforts align closely with our ‘Inclusive Societies’ social impact pillar, which aims to facilitate equitable access and opportunity for all.
In one of its most memorable ongoing engagements, Lam has supported the “Walk for Our Children” fundraising event since 2015 by encouraging its employees to participate every year. The involvement allows Lam’s employees to spend meaningful time with family, friends and the broader community in support of children and youth.

Apart from contributing annually to “Walk for Our Children,” Lam’s employees have also been familiar faces at VOX @ Children’s Society, actively engaging our staff and service users through activities such as cooking, soccer games and youth gatherings. Lam was also part of the GrabFood Voucher initiative.

Our team caught up with Lam recently to ask them what keeps them going with their support efforts.
How does Lam encourage its employees to give back to the community?
At Lam, we offer several programmes that encourage employees to donate and volunteer for causes they care about. These initiatives include monetary matching gifts, matching funds for employee volunteer hours and ‘Deliver Joy’, our global social impact campaign held yearly in November and December, where we inspire employees to give back to our communities.
Lam also focuses on increasing opportunities for employees to get involved and providing resources for our teams to mobilise and volunteer. Our Lam Cares ambassador programme enables employees to champion community involvement within their teams, departments and regions.
Any advice to give to organisations who wish to be involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?
Partner with an organisation that aligns with your core values and guiding principles. Communicate the purpose of your CSR and create diverse platforms where employees can contribute and exchange CSR ideas.

Through events like “Walk for Our Children” and initiatives such as supporting VOX @ Children’s Society, Lam has demonstrated its commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and youth and fostering a culture of giving back within its company.
