#BounceBackHigher2023

The reason why trampolines are so fun, especially for children, is because even if you are on the way down, trampolines represent an opportunity to bounce back, sometimes even higher than before. For many kids, trampolines also give them a new perspective, a chance to reach new heights, and just pure fun.

This New Year, as we make our resolutions and look forward to a brighter year ahead, let us also be the metaphorical trampolines for the children who might not be as fortunate as others.

Zac* is currently a primary schooler. Having been subject to repeated occurrences of harsh physical punishment by his birth mother from the tender age of three, Zac was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

He was brought to Sunbeam Place, and initially presented with anger tantrums and uncontrollable rage in school and in the home. After receiving psychological services in the form of weekly Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Zac is now able to verbalise his strong desire to better control his impulses.

For beneficiaries such as Zac, bouncing back from trauma can be a daunting challenge to undertake alone. It is only with the help and generosity of donors that our professional staff at service centres islandwide can continue providing the care and support that beneficiaries like Zac need, in order to bounce back higher and reach new heights.

This Lunar New Year, help your children reach new heights (of empathy and care) by encouraging them to donate to our fundraising project, A Little Kindness, Lots of Joy!. No one is too small to make a big impact, and their spirit of kindness can help another child #BounceBackHigher.
