Over the last 70 years, Singapore Children’s Society has continued to broaden its reach and services to address the complex challenges faced by children, youth and families in need.

Our work has been made possible by donors and supporters who have helped us grow from a single convalescent home in Changi into an established charity for children, with more than 10 service centres islandwide. They include long-time supporters like Lam Research, which has been recognised as one of our Gold Supporters for several years now, including this year.

Lam Research began its donor journey with us in 2015, with the Walk for Our Children fundraising event. Since then, it has consistently made its resources available to us, organising futsal friendlies, driving food programmes, and even donating meal and hygiene essentials to vulnerable families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Andrew Goh, Corporate Vice President and General Manager at Lam Research Southeast Asia says that helping is core to the company’s values.

“At Lam Research, making positive changes in our community is central to our pursuit for a better world. We give back through events like Walk for Our Children, and appreciate the opportunity to help fulfil the society’s mission of bringing relief and happiness to children in need.”

Our donors are critical to the work that we do. In the last two years alone, they have contributed some $12 million through our two key fundraising initiatives – the 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need (1000E) and 1000 Philanthropists (1000P) programmes. This has allowed us to improve the lives of many, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, says Ms Joyce Teng, Senior Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships and Corporate Communications.

“Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a significant difference to many children and families in need,” she adds.
