At the heart of every charity organisation are the individuals and corporations who believe in the cause and help make a difference.
At Singapore Children’s Society, our staff members are dedicated to the work they do to ensure our service users can reach their brightest potential. We have been on this journey for 72 years and gratefully, we have not been alone. Our donors are the lifeblood of our mission, providing not only the financial resources but also the encouragement and confidence to continue doing what Children’s Society does – protecting and nurturing children, youth and families in need.
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has been a loyal and dedicated supporter of Children’s Society for the past five years. In 2020, they held their first virtual RBC Race for the Kids (RFTK) in Singapore alongside Children’s Society’s Walk for Our Children (Virtual). Two virtual RFTK events followed in 2021 and 2022 and together the three events raised over $475,000 in donations.
Following the success of the virtual events, RBC held their first in-person RFTK in Singapore last year and built on their success in 2024 by holding their second in-person event in September. More than 270 employees, family members and friends came together in Sentosa and helped RBC raise over $220,000 for Children’s Society from the two events.
This makes the grand total contribution from RBC RFTK to Children’s Society as over $675,000.

“We are very grateful to Singapore Children’s Society for allowing us to incorporate RBC Race for the Kids into the Walk for Our Children at Palawan Beach. RBC Race for the Kids Singapore was a huge success with RBC employees, their families and friends coming together to support the causes that Children’s Society champion.”

Since forming a partnership with RBC, Children’s Society has spent time with the employees across the company to discuss the programmes that have directly benefited from their donations. Last year, RBC employees were also treated to a performance by one of the youths from VOX @ Children’s Society. It was an incredibly special occasion for everyone involved.

In addition to supporting Children’s Society through donations, RBC also encourages their employees to volunteer with our organisation.
“We partner with Singapore Children’s Society not only because of the important programmes they deliver in support of children and youth in Singapore but also because our values align. We are working with Children’s Society on volunteering opportunities for our employees who are very excited to be involved and give back to the community.”

It is a priority for Children’s Society to build stronger communities with corporations who believe in our cause. Part of RBC’s purpose is to help communities prosper and they believe that it is important for them to give back to the community in the regions in which they operate in. The partnership that RBC and Children’s Society has built is testament to the culture at RBC, which is to live their purpose.

“Supporting our local community is incredibly important to all of us at RBC. We are proud to work with Singapore Children’s Society and to help them deliver the important programmes that make such difference to the lives of children and youth in Singapore.”
