Some will usher in the Year of the Ox with wishes of fortune, others simply yearn to be close to their families.

We try to help.

At Children Outreach @ Children’s Society, for instance, Madam Tan* and her two granddaughters could tele-visit her incarcerated son over Chinese New Year. They were able to exchange greetings and catch up on how the girls were doing in school.

Through Project LADDER, a joint initiative with Singapore Prison Service, children aged 16 and below can carry out tele-visits at our centre to maintain communication with parents who are incarcerated. It seeks to sustain and strengthen positive family relationships and connections for those affected by incarceration.

However, we can only keep programmes like this going with your help.

As you put together your red packets for family members this Lunar New Year, we hope you will include one for families who might not be so fortunate.

Support our annual fundraising project, A Little Kindness, Lots of Joy! by making a contribution here. Even a small amount can go a long way in ensuring the well-being of the children we help, and sustaining our various programmes and services.

From our families to yours, Gong Xi Fa Cai!
