Thursday, 23 March 2023 – Garnering steadfast support from enterprises and individuals, Singapore Children’s Society’s two fundraising initiatives – the 1000 Enterprises for Children in-Need (1000E) and 1000 Philanthropists (1000P) programmes – raised a total of $6.6 million in 2022.
Held at the Grand Ballroom at Orchard Hotel, the 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need and 1000 Philanthropists Appreciation Dinner 2023 recognised 1,806 enterprises and individuals for their contributions in 2022. Compared to previous years, the 1000P programme saw a record-breaking number of 1,255 philanthropists, which is an increase from 1,109 in 2021 and 965 in 2020. Patron for the 1000E and 1000P programmes, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Mr Teo Chee Hean, was the Guest of Honour for the Appreciation Dinner and presented tokens of appreciation to attending donors.
The funds raised from the two programmes will go towards furthering the Society’s mission of bringing relief and happiness to children in need. Having commemorated its 70th Anniversary in 2022, Children’s Society will continue its efforts to support vulnerable children, youth and families, as well as evolve its services and programmes to meet changing needs of beneficiaries.
Said Mr Koh Choon Hui, Chairman of Singapore Children’s Society at the event, “Against a backdrop of lingering uncertainty from the pandemic, we were able to carry on with our work because of the unwavering support from our donors. Over the last three years, businesses and individuals alike have demonstrated their willingness to respond to the needs of the community in crisis… It is through the collective effort of our donors, supporters, staff, and volunteers that we can continue our work and make a positive impact on the lives of children, youth and families in Singapore.”
