Singapore Children’s Society successfully raised a record $1.2 million at the 70th Anniversary Charity Gala Dinner held on 22 November 2022. This amount was raised through table sales, direct donations, as well as live and silent auctions during the Charity Gala Dinner. This was the Society’s first Charity Gala Dinner since the pandemic.

In his speech, Mr Koh Choon Hui, Chairman, said that the pandemic highlighted the need for the Society to continuously adapt and evolve. Apart from lending beneficiaries a helping hand, it is also important to empower them to be independent and resilient. He shared the story of Madam Norgayah, one of our beneficiaries who received help from Project Cook – an employment initiative that matches home-based cooks with cooking assignments.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Sweet Keat was the guest of honour at the event. He spoke about the evolving needs of children, and lauded the Society for its contributions in supporting children and youth, as well as their families, over the last 70 years.
