Tinkle Friend Helpline

Tinkle Friend is a national toll free helpline (1800-2744-788) for all primary-school-aged children in Singapore. The helpline provides support, advice and information to lonely and distressed children, especially in situations when their parents or main caregivers are unavailable. Tinkle Friend Helpline is manned by trained volunteers.

Compulsory Education

Compulsory Education Casework

Working exclusively with the Ministry of Education, Children’s Society counsels both children and parents on the importance of proper schooling and helps them with difficulties they face. Through the programme, we provide assistance to families who failed to register their child for school or send their child to school for the required 6 years. A child of ‘compulsory school age’, (i.e. above 6 years old and below 15), and is a Singapore citizen residing in Singapore, has to attend a national primary school, unless exempted.

Bully-Free Programme

Bullying is one of the most common problems faced by many children in schools and it can ruin lives. However, everyone can play a part to curb this social problem. Children's Society organises a range of programmes and activities to make schools a safer environment through its Bully-Free Programme.

Project LADDER
Project LADDER reaches out to families of inmates who may be struggling in isolation due to the stigma associated with the incarceration of their loved ones.

A joint project with the Singapore Prison service, Project LADDER allows children whose parents are incarcerated to maintain frequent contact through tele-visits from our premises. The sessions provide our social workers an in-road to engage the families, especially children, and assess if they are coping well with the situation.

Children Service Centre

Targeted at supporting children staying in the Eastern part of Singapore, this centre offers a range of services to enhance the well-being of children. At this centre, we reach out to children between 5 and 12 years old, and are mainly from dysfunctional or disadvantaged families.

KidzLive
Through KidzLive, we educate children on sexual abuse and how to fend off inappropriate advances. Through a stage production, children are taught the acronym, "N.O.T", which stands for "Say no", "Walk out" and "Tell a trusted adult".

Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Workshop

Through our workshops, secondary caregivers including pre-school and primary school teachers are taught to identify and manage child abuse and neglect.

Project INVEST

Project Invest is an enjoyable and practical 4-session course for parents with children aged below 12 and who are keen to learn parenting skills and knowledge. The main objectives are to improve communication and strengthen the relationship between the parents and their children.
