NEU PC Plus Programme and iNSPIRE Fund Application
NEU PC Plus Programme offers less-privileged students a brand new computer bundled with free broadband and software at an affordable price.
To further enable low-income households with school-going children to participate in and leverage on the infocomm sector in Singapore, by allowing personal computer ownership in these targeted households, IDA introduced the NEU PC Plus iNSPIRE Fund Programme.
The iNSPIRE Fund complements the NEU PC Plus Programme by helping *financially needy students who cannot afford to co-pay for a new PC even after IDA’s subsidy and other financial assistance from the MOE schools’ Opportunity Fund and self-help groups.
Needy students can render 6 to 12 hours of community service in order to get a fully-paid PC through IDA’s subsidy and the iNSPIRE Fund.
iNSPIRE Fund applicants aged 14 years old and below will need to perform six hours of community work, while those aged 15 years old and above will need to do 12 hours. The community service records must be endorsed by their teachers or the staff of the voluntary welfare organisations which they served and sent to Singapore Children’s Society for processing.
Singapore Children’s Society has been appointed as the Fund Administrator for the NEU PC Plus iNSPIRE Fund Programme. Our role is to assist iNSPIRE Fund applicants to process their applications. This service is in line with our mission to “bring relief and happiness to children in need”, giving us an opportunity to reach out to more children in need, whom otherwise, would not be known to us. Hence, Children’s Society is glad to be providing this service as IDA’s partner without any charges.
