Our
Convalescent Home provides residential care for a special
group of children. It is a Place of Shelter for them.
Originally set up in 1955, it was a "half-way"
house for poor children suffering from malnutrition
and tuberculosis to convalesce. Through the years, we
have extended our care to victims of child abuse and
neglect, children whose parents are unable to provide
proper care (either because they are in Drug Rehabilitative
Centres, in prisons or in distress) and children needing
respite care. In 1989, the Home was gazetted as a Place
of Safety to offer protection to abused and neglected
children.
Here at our Home, we conduct classes for children in
Kindergarten 2 and below, enrichment classes, character
education and counselling.
Every child is precious. Each child, no matter how badly
treated or deprived, has the potential to achieve something.
And we give them the best care and love we can.
*Please note that all food served at the Home is halal. Therefore, all food donated must be halal.
