At Singapore Children's Society, we help protect and
nurture children and youth of all races and religions, especially
those who are abused, neglected, and/or from dysfunctional families.
Each year we reach out to about 66,000 children, youth and families
in need.
Established in 1952, the needs of our children have
changed over the years. Since then, our services have evolved to
meet their needs. Today, we operate islandwide to broaden our reach
via the six service categories of: Caregiving, Preventive,
Developmental, Remedial, Community and Public Education. |

Our PeopleSingapore Children’s Society is managed by an
Executive Committee. As the highest policy and decision making body,
the Executive Committee has the ultimate responsibility of ensuring
that the Society is governed, and managed responsibly and
prudently.
There are also five standing committees working
hand in hand with the full time staff in the areas of Appeals,
Information & Corporate Relations, Research and Advocacy, Social
Work Service and Sunbeam Place (Children’s Residential Home). The
Executive Director heads a staff strength of 125 comprising
mainly of counsellors and social workers.
All committee
members are volunteers of Children’s Society, and come from diverse
backgrounds such as education, law, healthcare, business and
more.
Our Code of ConductWith 10 centres and offices across the
country, we need to streamline our practices and processes. This is
imperative so that we will continue to meet the high standard of
governance, achieve more without compromising our conduct and at the
same time, not slowing things down through unnecessary
bureaucracy.
The establishment of a Code of Conduct will move
Singapore Children’s Society to another dimension of corporate
governance, accountability, transparency and sustainability. It will
become our yardstick and operating parameter to conduct ourselves
before all our beneficiaries, stakeholders and the public. The Code
represents the commitment of Children’s Society to conduct its
activities and operations lawfully and ethically to the highest
standards possible.
